Innovative web instruments and warranty extension: Fimap news for 2012
What process led to the warranty extension?
Our pursuit of ongoing improvement in company performance has led us to invest in various sectors, such as industrialization, development of new technologies (FSS, FNC, FES), perfection of the product control and certification systems, reduction in consumptions and environmental impact and increase of information methods. These investments have increased the level of Fimap brand credibility and the approval of our customers, who feel they have established a professional relationship with a firm that inspires trust and solidity.
At the same time we have achieved a certified quality level for our products which enables us to guarantee long term performance: when the end customer purchases a Fimap machine, he knows he has bought a reliable high quality product that is able to meet properly the requirements it was purchased for.
How does Fimap achieve the extended warranty?
It’s the quality of the product that enables us to extend the warranty period, and thanks to the scheduled maintenance according to Fimap warranty, we are able to guarantee the same quality for long.
To implement this transition we have planned a process that focuses on perfecting the offer to our customers, raising the quality standards. Internally we have introduced a sophisticated system of product quality certification called Road to Quality. At the same time new online tools have been developed specifically for our dealer network, to improve their level of expertise and professional skills. Lastly, to implement the scheduled maintenance according to the extended warranty, we have concentrated on ensuring a uniform level of technical competence with the “Workshop Certification” project thanks to which our customers can rely on on a network of Fimap equipped and certified facilities, where all the checks scheduled by the plan will be performed according to to the highest professional standards.
What are the tools that Fimap offers to its dealers?
We have focused on three phases – before, after and during the sale. The first tool is undoubtedly the quality certificate which accompanies every machine, the result of the Road to Quality testing system which documents the positive outcome of the tests performed on all the machine functions. The quality and reliability of Fimap products are therefore certified and linked to an official document. For the second and third phase, we have concentrated on the development of web tools, in order to provide a 24 hour service, supporting the work of our dealers with cutting edge systems. To back up our network in the sales process, we have created the Fit4You online quotation software, a work tool which enables our dealers to supply real-time quotations for any product and define the servicing plan for correct performance of the scheduled maintenance according to warranty procedure. In addition, we have created a direct channel with our dealers through which they are constantly updated on the latest developments, where they have immediate access to all technical and commercial material, enabling them to carry out completely independently all the operations connected to product sale and support; this channel, which considerably streamlines the processes, is called My Fimap. Lastly, during the final phase the customer is given a scheduled maintenance booklet which documents the services carried out on the product which are managed and recorded also by the dealer via the online portal.

In particular we have aimed at prevention, switching from corrective maintenance to preventive one thanks to the scheduled maintenance plan.
